Embark on an active, sustainable wine experience from Brighton, exploring the stunning landscapes of Sussex on foot.
Using a combination of public transport and leg power, you’ll journey through breathtaking Sussex countryside, charming villages, and historical landmarks.
Your adventure begins at Brighton Railway Station, where your guide will meet you before your bus journey to the starting point of the tour. We ascend up onto the South Downs, where you’ll be treated to spectacular views of the Sussex landscape. We’ll continue to Ditchling Beacon where we alight the bus and start our Walk to the Vineyards. enjoy stunning scenes from the highest point in Sussex before descending the hills and popping into our first vineyard for a sparkling wine tasting. We then walk into the historic village of Ditchling, where you’ll have time to explore and choose where to have lunch. Choose from traditional village pubs, or enjoy an afternoon tea at one of Ditchling’s award-winning tea rooms.
After lunch, we meet at the Historic St. Margaret’s and head to our second award-winning vineyard for a guided tour of the vineyard and winery, including a tasting of sparkling wine. Following the tour, we’ll walk a short distance to the local railway station and head back to Brighton, finishing the tour in the city’s famous North Laine district.
This is the perfect experience for those seeking an active adventure that combines the best of Sussex’s walking trails with an unforgettable vineyard visit.
Walk to the Vines is available to book throughout the week, all year round. Tours start at 10:00 AM and finish around 4:30 PM (April to October). This is a shared tour with a minimum of six guests is required per tour. This is available as a private tour experience. Check our calendar for availability.
Price: £95 per person (includes all bus and rail tickets, guided walk, wine tour and wine tasting at two vineyards. Lunch is not included.

Which vineyards do you visit?
We vary the itinerary throughout the year, visiting different vineyards depending on the season. Our partner vineyards for this tour include Court Garden, Everflyht, Artelium Estate, and Ridgeview Wine Estate.
Can I buy this tour as a gift?

I have limited mobility. Is this tour accessible for me?
Due to the high level of walking involved, this tour is not suitable for those with limited mobility. We recommend our Vintage Bus Wine Tour as a more accessible alternative.
How much walking is involved?
This tour includes approximately 4 miles (6.5 km) of walking through the Sussex countryside, with a total walking time of around 3 hours.
We’re based outside of Brighton — can we arrange a private Walking to the Vineyards tour?
Absolutely! All of our tours are available as private, bespoke experiences. We’ll design the walking route from your accommodation or another convenient starting point.
