WISTON ESTATE VINEYARD

Nestled among the chalk hills of the South Down is Wiston Estate Vineyard

The Goring family have been custodians of the Wiston Estate since 1743.  The deep rooted family history and connection to the land is integral to their award-winning wines.

In 2006, the Goring family planted a south-facing 16-acre site with Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay vines. Now 16 years later,  Wiston has entered another chapter of their journey and opened a new winery and restaurant on site which showcases this exceptional vineyard, now combining the best Sussex food with their sparkling wines.  The Chalk restaurant is open Tuesday to Sunday with a number of special evening events.  Why not treat yourself?

The traditional Coquard press at Wiston is one of only four outside of France and is unique to the UK. Its large surface area and exceptionally gentle pressing enables extraction of the very highest quality. This is at the heart of Wiston’s winemaking philosophy to maximise the purity of the juice at pressing, followed by minimum intervention in the winemaking process.
